How can you clear the maintenance code on a 2005 Honda Accord?

I am tired of staring at the light and am not going to pay the dealer 400-600 dollars for nothing. I was wondering if there was a way i could clear the code myself.

the maint. light is to let you know when its time to have the oil changed.turn off the key press and hold the odometer button in turn key to on position and wait for the light to flash and go off. thats it. if its a service engine light check the gas cap for a good seal and wait for about 30 startups if that does work see your dealer for help. good luck

- the radio, if code-protected, may be locked after disconnecting the battery

Reply:the main. req. light is not something u pay the dealer to take out. they are supposed to take out for free. but if u wanna do it yourself, hit the select or reset button on the dash while the key is off. turn the key on while still holding the button. wait untill it flashes then let go. turn the car off and start it up again. it should go out. hope this helps. and i hope ur not talking about the check engine light. two totaly diff. lights.
