Where can i find the factory door code for my 2002 explorer?

I have a 2002 explorer xlt and don't know what the current door code is. Is there a factory default that is printed somewhere in the car, and if so, where?

Where can i find the factory door code for my 2002 explorer?
It depends on whether your particular vehicle is built before or after March of 2002. If it is built before the said date, the module that controls the keyless entry is located behind the panel, just behind the right rear door. To access this requires removal of the plastic panel where the right rear seat belt hinges to. Once removed you should see a module with three electrical connectors to it, with a label on it. It should have numbers resembling 2L2T-14K602-XXX. On that label will be FIVE numbers. That is your keyless entry keypad code. If built AFTER the said date, the module is located behind the radio and heater controls which will need to be removed for access. Again the module will have the said numbers on the decal. Hope this helps.
Reply:my family has bought a few fords, and I'm pretty sure when you buy them used if the dealer didn't actually GIVE you the code, you have to get it changed which will cost you $$$. I think it can be as expensive as $300. If you have AAA though, you don't really need the code cuz they can unlock your car if you are locked out.
Reply:On my 96 it was stamped inside the rear liftgate area on the passenger side up towards the top.
Reply:CHECK ON THE INSIDE OF THE DRIVERS DOOR BY THE HINGES THATS WHERE THEY USALLY ARE.
Reply:you can have it retrieved at the dealer, through there scanner

or-there is the module that is either located up under dash near the steering column, or left side of vehicle back behind rear seat trim panel the module will have the number you need on it

its the number code for the door pad hope this helps
Reply:Center console? Glove box? Call the dealer.
Reply:Damned if I can remember where it is on an Explorer. It is usually labeled in two different locations. One is normally on the computer, a label...If you can obtain a factory shop manual and read under appropriate section you will find out where the other label is..You can go to a dealer and they will put it on their computer and get for you...About an hour minimum charge, $100. I AM ASSUMING YOU ARE REFERRING TO YOUR KEY-LESS ENTRY.
