What if I forgot add the 0014 as a part of the Atlanta IRS zip code?

I had a family member send their tax return with refund to IRS Atlanta,GA 39901. However they forgot to list -0014 after the zip code 39901. What happens then? Does it get sent back or does the IRS except it?

What if I forgot add the 0014 as a part of the Atlanta IRS zip code?
they won't send it back,, IRS has it's own zip code in Atlanta so it can't go to the wrong place,, and enough people don't add the plus 4 numbers so they have a special place for your letter to go. someone will open it and see if you owe or are due a refund,, so if you are due a refund,, figure on a few extra days to get it.
Reply:They will accept it. It may just take an extra day or two to get there.
Reply:Don't worry. It will get there, it will just take a little longer.
Reply:It will get there, don't worry. I've never had anything returned to me because I didn't use the +4 part of a zip code.
