How do I figure out what the security code is for the Linksys I have?

I bought a Linksys wireless router at a yard sale...I got it plugged in correctly but I can't log on with my laptop because it has a security code and I need to know how I can by pass that so I can use it. Can anyone help?

How do I figure out what the security code is for the Linksys I have?
Find the reset button and press it while powering up (maybe hold for 20 seconds...) to reset the router to factory default.

You may need a paperclip to press the button if it's down a hole.

Find the manual for your model on Linksys's website and find the exact reset procedure for your router.
Reply:try all 0's or all 1's if not 12345 may be the default code otherwise you can try the Lynksys web site for trouble shooting help
Reply:go to the linksys website they will have the steps to set it back to defalt settings. then use the defalt password. it will invovle something like turning the power off while holding the reset button.
Reply:try going to the linksys site online , it's usually http:\\192.168.1.1 from the pc that's attached to it, there is also a default button on router if i remember right to reset password that you hold in , hop e this helps you some just type model number in on linksys site online from there you should be able to get more help
Reply:Unplug the wireless router.

Hold down the reset button for 30 seconds, and plug in the wireless router while continuing to hold that reset button for the next 10 seconds. That resets it to factory default.

Log into http://192.168.1.1 username: admin password: admin

Set up your own password, and turn on wireless security, preferable WPA, but WEP if it's an old one.
Reply:Try going to the Linksys website, they should be able to help you if you know what model it is. I had a similar problem but with a different brand router.
