By code what kind of paint do you use in the bathroom, this is new construction?

Is there a code for what kind of paint you use in the bathroom on a new construction?

Semi-gloss is the best sheen. Sherwin Williams has a product called "duration home" that resists mildew, and most stains wipe clean with mild soap and water so no harsh cleaning chemicals are needed for clean-up. The durable formula reduces frequent repaints.

Reply:I don't know about code, but I'd definitely put up the kind especially made for bathrooms, and for your kitchen as well. Well worth the extra couple bucks!
Reply:Different areas have different codes. However, in my 14 years of painting experience, I prefer an oil-based semi-gloss enamel applied to a coat of an oil based primer/sealer.

It's sloppy, the cleanup is harder and it is more expensive, but it lasts longer and makes it harder to have mold problems.
Reply:There is no code for that just common sense. A semi gloss will be way easier to wipe clean than a flat paint. The paint suppliers will supply you with the right paint that has algicides added .Also like tiles and rock material because they look natural and seem bullet proof.
