How can I find out from the area code of a land-line number which area it is assigned to?

When I am going through my itemised phone bill, and I see phone numbers that I do not remember or recognise, it would probably help jog my memory if I could identify the location of the number from the area code, e.g. 0151 would be the Liverpool area.

How could I do this easily?

Simply look on the BT site - it's all there ! ! !

Reply:call the person and ask them .... its a sure way to get the correct answer , but remember to write it down this time ...
Reply:if you have got a phone book the codes are all in the front of it, but their website sounds a great idea, didnt know about that. I think we all get numbers we dont recognise on our phone bills-I always have a nagging doubt that BT just add a few in and hope that I dont notice. Their bills become more confusing every year :(
Reply:should all be in your phone directory
Reply:Try this:http:\\ask.com
Reply:try typing "area codes" into google. Maybe that would help?
